Hallo allemaal.
Hoe dubbel en raar kan het leven zijn... zo is er de vreugde en plezier over een nieuw kitten in huis en zo moet je ineens afscheid nemen van een van je oude tutten.
Helaas heb ik gisteren Mickey moeten laten inslapen. Ook hij leed net zoals zijn broer Sheltie (die vorig jaar november overleed) aan HCM en dat werd nu ineens te zwaar voor zijn lijfje.
Ik troost mij met de gedachten dat Mickey en Sheltie als gevonden boerderij kittens bij het asiel waren gedumpt en vanaf negen maanden oud bij mij een heerlijk leven hebben gehad, maar dat maakt het verdriet en gemis niet minder....

Hi everybody.
How strange life can be.... one moment there is joy and happiness about having a new kitten at home and the next moment you have to say goodbye to one of your older sweethearts.
Unfortunately i had to put Mickey to sleep yesterday. He also suffered from HCM like his brother Sheltie (who died last november) and yesterday is little body couldn't handle it any longer.
I comfort myself with the thoughts that Mickey and Sheltie where found as kittens on a farm, dumped at the rescuecenter and then have had a great life with me ever since they where nine months old. But that doesn't make the loss and sadness any less....

Heel veel sterkte met het verlies van Mickey. Voor 3 weken terug dachten we dat we onze kat zouden moeten inslapen ( 17 jaar oud en ook uit het asiel), gelukkig is ze weer opgeknapt en loopt weer vrolijk door het huis.
Misschien kan het een troost zijn dat Mickey een goed tehuis bij jou heeft gehad.

I am so, so, sorry for your loss. I just had to put down my eldest 'girl' due to liver failure at the end of August and I still hurt so badly (we don't have children, our cats are our kids) so I know how bad you must feel right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Angelique, I am so very sorry for your loss. In May, we had to put down one of our cats from kidney disease. It's heart-breaking to lose a fur baby. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I saw this tonight for the first time and I'm so so sorry. I have a new kitten my dog found under our shed when she was just four weeks old (she's 6 months old now, but still feels brand new to us) and we just found out from the vet that our sweet and sassy cat Weezee very likely has bone cancer. We won't know for certain for a week or so, but it's not looking good. It sounds like we're having similar experiences. :( I'm so sorry you've had to lose your kitty. I'm so worried about mine, I know what you're experiencing hurts. Hug your remaining kitties for me.
So sorry about your cats, life seems cruel at times but you have the right attitude that you gave them such a good life with you full of love and caring, I am sure they had the best life possible and loved you for it.
