Support and Love
Hallo allemaal.
Ieder leven is even waardevol.
***************************
Hi everybody.
Normally I don't post personal things on this blog, but this time I have to because it is very important to me. So I hope you will read it.
It breaks my heart everytime I hear the stories of teenagers and adults who live in constant fear, worry, hurt, pain, hopelesness and loneliness. Who suffer from depressions and even commit suicide.
All of this because they are gay.
This has to stop!
I call myself a Christian because I believe in God and I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He teaches us that the most important commandment is to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbour as yourself! God is love and everything in this life is about love. God created each of us with love and care and we have to accept and cherrish that. Every life is precious!
Being gay is not a choice, several studies has proven that it is the way you are born, so God created you that way, so it is not a sin!!!
It is bad that a lot of people who call themselfves Christians are the ones who condem, hate and abuse gay people and throw them out of the Church ( and keep them from loving God ) while Jesus teaches us to love one another, to respect eachother and to support eachother!
Luckaly there are more Christians who come to realize this and they are learning that the scriptures which have been used for centuries to condem gay people are actually about templeprostitution, rape, lusts etc, all things which have nothing to do with being gay!
( there is a lot of info on these scriptures on the internet )
Unfortunately for decades the media has also placed gay people in a wrong and negative perspective.
About ten percent of all people are gay! That means that there is somebody around you who is gay also. What if it is your own child, one of your parents, your brother or sister, your best friend, or what if you discover you are gay yourself??? Then what would you do, what will you think, what will you say?
I really hope with all my heart that there will be more acceptance, love and support for gay poeple. That way many more people will be brave enough to come out in the open and being able to become the beautiful people God made them to be. And lives will be saved!
If you want to know....yes I am a Christian and yes I am lesbian.
It is possible to be a gay Christian! ( if you struggle with this yourself then please find some help, read the stories of other people, there are save Christian lgbt communities on the internet )
I hope this post will at least touch one persons heart.
If you are going to yell at me or want to send me hatemails, don't bother.
If you need to talk or support then feel free to mail me.
greetings Sliekje and cats

Hoi Angelique,
groetjes wendy
Thank you so much for this image. I hope you will consider doing a female version too. I admire your courage and wish people would see each other as "people," not their sexuality.
It's so sad that you have to post something like this, because you're right, prejudice does exist in this way, and it is so wrong for people to be judged on their sexuality, religion, or any other basis that is not fair or right, and then call themselves followers of a God who says we should treat others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Such double standards by those who do not accept what nature dictates. Well written Angelique. Sad, but unfortunately true.
"judged" should have read "judging others"! Got a bit passionate in my reply and got the tense wrong! Hopefully it makes sense though. Take care hun. xx
Thanks sooo much for this gorgeous image here again hun and how amazing of you to out like this and speak up loud and clear, I really admire that. As you say, we probably all know someone, so in the world of today, it really shouldn´t be nessecary to make an entry like this, though I know only too well, that it is. I hope, you and all the other gay people knows, that it´s only a few of those hateful people out there and the majority is nice and well meaning people, who just want everybody to have the best life, they can, and that´s a wish I have for every person on this earth, ALSO those hatefull ones, as I hope, they´ll learn and get wiser, and be more in peace wwith them self, cause they sure need that.
Big hugs to you! Please know that you have supporters, so please don't let hateful people get you down. The state I live in in the U.S. recognizes gay marriage - and it's about time! Change is coming, though slowly. Love your artwork and the lovely spirit that is reflected in it.
Love this post :) Glad to know you as you are. I have known gays throughout my life and it does not and has not ever bothered me. I love them. My state finally allows gay marriage :) You should be able to marry and love whoever you want. I do believe you are born this way. Be happy, love cats and others too. Thank you for the stamp too...
Good post! Thank you for the image. Hugs and have a great day! :)
thank you for the honesty in your post. you are such a kind, caring person, and it has shown in your blog from the very beginning. you let God shine through. it has nothing to do with anything other being a loving human being. we should always show kindness and respect to everyone.
sending you hugs! :)
I agree with everything you wrote and as regardless of religion we are all human beings with the right to love and be loved
I've always loved your artwork and I'm so thankful to you for being strong and outspoken for equality and kindness to everyone. I especially appreciate that you're speaking out as a Christian since Christians are so often believed to be anti-gay. I'm Zen Buddhist, a historically gay friendly religion (though not all sects of Buddhism are, sadly), so it means a lot to hear Christians coming forward for gay rights. I wish more would stand up and profess their support for equality so the ones who spread hate wouldn't be seen as speaking for most Christians. Your voice is so strong. Keep speaking out! :)
that was a wonderful post, bless you
you are a sweet, amazingly talented person and you are so very generous and kind to share your talents with us. You also shared your heart in this post.
We care.
Thank you again for another adorable digi.
Thank you for sharing about myself - it is an honour to know you and I dont care whether you are a lesbian or not. To me you are Angelique- a kind, talented and generous lady who has shared her kindness with me :)
Huge hugs and much love xx
Just one word for you:
RESPECT
xx

Hi Angelique - I am also sorry that people are so hurtful in this world. I have never ever bothered whether a person is gay, straight, bi or whatever. Life is much too short and precious to bother about things like this and I feel sorry for people who do, they are narrow minded. To me you are just a very lovely lady who not only shares her drawing talent with us but also lurves cats - way to go!
Lots of hugs to you Sue Pxxx
Thank you for your heartfelt post. I am a strong believer in rights for all people. We are all much more alike than we are different, and we ought to celebrate and support our differences! They are what make this world such a colorful and interesting place. Hugs to you, and thank you for all that you share with your online audience.
Love you and your soul!!!
Thanks for being brave and sharing your thoughts with us. I don't care what your sexuality is -to me, you are such a talented and caring artist and fellow cat lover!
You're right Angelique Love is Love and once it hits you can't stop it. My OH drives me crazy but I can't imagine him not being there. Hope you don't get hate mail for opening up to us and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talents. :-) xx
Can't agree with you more. And good for you that you can be what you are and deal with it even if other people can't. In my opinion... it's nobody's business what happens in my bedroom and who it's happening with. And it's not my business what happens in other's bedrooms. I think that who you love has nothing to do with who you are as a person. You can be straight and I don't want anything to do with you because I don't like your personality and you can be gay and be my best friend. Thank you for putting this out there and I hope you didn't get hate mail because of it:)
You are a most wonderful artist and I thank you for sharing that with all of us!!!
A brave post Angelique. Good on you hunny, for speaking your truth. My brother has had such a tough journey and still holds strong to his faith. We need more beautiful souls like you in this world xxxx
Angelique ...
I'm a strong supporter of the gay community. My sister in law and her partner recently got married when our state laws changed to allow it. I'm trying to raise my daughter to be the same way, supportive and non-judgmental of everyone. That being said, one of her besties is a proclaimed Christian, and it really frosts me when I hear some of the stuff that comes out of her family's mouths. You can't claim to be a good Christian, walk the walk and talk the talk when you turn around and condemn a certain lifestyle because it doesn't match with your own. Love the courage it must have taken to write this post - but in reality, you shouldn't have to feel you need to work up the courage to talk about something like this ... It should just be like any other conversation - however, until the world changes and everyone becomes more accepting, Kudo's to you ... Love your artwork regardless! XO
Hoi Angelique,
Groetjes,
GerJanne
